I read the book Vitamin D3 Miracle by Jeff T. Bowels and was very impressed. On one of the reviews, I read about a girl taking (3) D3-50 a day along with Super Vit K2. I have also read online from several doctors that they had never come across VIT D Toxicity. Then along came COVID-19, so I thought, I would give it a try to boost my immune system. At first, I started out on 1 a day, after a month or so increased it to 3 a day. Another month later, I started to get sick with symptoms similar to COVID-19, except for no fever. I was tested and the results were negative. I continued to get sicker and a day later told my husband I needed to go to the hospital. I was throwing up and super exhausted. When I arrived at the hospital, I found that my calcium levels were at 18 and that night I almost died. Those are the levels that create a coma and death, the doctors told me the high calcium levels were due to Vitamin D Toxicity. The high calcium also created high kidney numbers along with high blood pressure, I found that all of these things work together. 6 days later I left the hospital. We are still working to bring down my calcium, kidney, and blood pressure numbers. Before this I had no issues with any of these things. This is a painful and expensive lesson to me. I just wanted to warn anyone that Vitamin D3 is a strong and powerful hormone supplement and there is such a thing as Vitamin D Toxicity. Please be careful.

As you already have said, you didnt almost die from vitamin D3 toxicity, you did almost die due to calcium toxicity. In most cases calcium doesn’t rise without any reason. You probably consumed alot of calcium containing foods, which is one of the biggest problems when taking high doses of vitamin d3. If you consume grass fed grass finished butter you should get enough vitamin k2 though, (50grams a day).

This is what I was thinking. She says that she was taking 50,000 IU and went to 150,000 IU, yet she does not tell us what her blood levels were and no mention of counteracting the D3 with K2. Obviously, it sounds like she went above and beyond the recommended blood level, but with that said, as the book states, toxicity levels aren’t reached until you’re over 300-400. That’s an incredible number in its own right. Maybe something happened other than vitamin d toxicity and the hospital used that info as an excuse as to what was happening to her. Without documented blood levels, we won’t know.
